You can collect cans for money by taking your cans to a scrap dealer, they only pay about 25 cents/pound and there are approximately 27 cans/pound. Its a good way to make money for a church or service group.

If you have any empty cans in Kitchener please take them to St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
All proceeds go to help fund Outreach Programs like the food cupboard.

If you have any empty cans in Hamilton please take them to James Street Baptist Church.
All proceeds go to help fulp summer bible day camp or VBS.

It would take you 108 cans to make 1 dollar. Surely there is a more efficient way to raise funds for the church?

Every little bit helps. At my old church we raised over $4,000 in two years, plus these churches are both downtown, and as such don't really have extra money especially in this financial downturn.

wow, that's actually quite a bit. Plus with as many cans as that would equal, you guys are doing quite bit for the environment as well :)
I understand the not having much money part, so many companies in this area are going out of business. Every little bit absolutely helps. Glad you guys have found a way to generate extra income for the church.
