Learn Green / Live Green is holding its’ first annual Summit County teaching and sales event on April 18, 2009 at the John S. Knight center, to introduce and educate the community about the benefits of living a more eco-friendly lifestyle. The event is held in support of the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America.
Do you realize that every purchase you make affects our environment? Do you realize that just by buying a toxic free cleaner you are helping a pulmonary patient breathe easier, and keeping “healthy” people from developing a pulmonary illness? It is just that easy!

Event Goal: educate and encourage the sales of Organic, All Natural and Eco-Friendly Living.
Mission: give people the knowledge they need to make their NEXT ACTION a more sustainable one.

Event Schedule:
9am-5pm: 75 diversified Organic, All-Natural, and Eco-Friendly Exhibitors.
Family education, entertainment and activities.
7pm-10: 30pm: Black Tie Gala, organic and all-natural gourmet foods,
Entertainment…the Wanda Hunt Band as headliner
Silent and Live Auction

Green awareness is growing, but its taking high gas prices to bring the pressure home for people. I think the discussion of how being green can be integrated into our lives is at a nascent stage. Besides buying energy efficient appliances, carpooling etc. I've been really interested in buying biodegradable packaging materials. I think that is really low hanging fruit. Places like www.green-tooth.com and other sites devoted to bio stuff make it easier to make that transition.

Hopefully it is not a fad.

One thing I found hard was finding cleaining products that were just as good as Windex which I used to use. I went through many different cleaning products that just did not work. I actually found a great cleaning product finally, if you want check it out. I found this on another blog site and when I bought it I was impressed.
