Hi,
Starting every year we continue to face the very same problems of water and power scarcity, yet we continue to misuse the very same.Lets all contribute our ideas here to conserve these two valuable commodities. Here are my suggestions-
1)Switch off all lights during day time -use only if needed.
2)Switch off power plugs when not in use.
3)Reuse water which was used to wash clothes for non-potable uses.
4)Not waste water while brushing teeth -like keeping tap open when not needed.

Here are some small things I do.
One is to buy the more robust freezer zip lock bags, and re-use them. just wash em out quickly after use let them dry and you've got a free zip lock bag. Also if you buy milk from the bags you can cut the top open when you're done and you've got yourself a free sandwich bag, or a bag for anything really.

As for the higher end of savings, a good one to save on heating and cooling costs is to buy good quality window coverings. I just read this one recently and it makes complete sense. Here is where i read it

But basically if you use a type of blind that can trap air in it, you are essentially putting insulation over your windows.

Use rain barrel to conserve nature water for your yard/garden.

A rain barrel is the perfect way to keep your lawn green and your plants happy. Instead of spending the summer struggling to water your garden without reaching for the garden hose, a rain barrel collects the rain runoff from your roof via the downspout and stores it until you need it.
