With all the advancements being made with alternative fuels, we've expanded a bit and have begun this new forum focused on discussing these new transportation technologies of the future.

Hi everyone, new member here, first time poster...

This is the first site I've seen where there is interest in emerging technology, so let's see where this goes.....

I have been watching a lot of info on research on alternative fuels, personally the alternative is almost as bad as what we have now, alternative fuels,ie- ethanol, takes almost twice as much fuel to create as much power as gas, at almost the same cost, where's the savings????? hydrogen??? well at least you die quickly in an accident, you and everyone in the vincinity....

electric.... battery technology has to get a lot better than it is now before it becomes fesable.... drive 40 mi and wait 8 hrs to recharge , not for me....

I have 25 years in the auto industry and have been researching and developing a different way to use existing technology and get about the same performance without a drop of fuel, and this can convert current autos to no fuel in an afternoon. I have been watching closely others that are testing the same idea and chuckle when I see them having the same problems I had trying the same ideas 20 years ago.

I believe that I have worked thru most of the bugs with this idea and I am currently saving to build a working prototype based on a go-cart frame, and hope to have it ready by this summer. Amazingly, it will have 90% fewer parts than an internal combustion engine, no need for cooling and other than a few material changes, can use technology avail now. I can get most all I need off the internet.

I have been searching for interested investors to no avail. They all want to see it work before giving up a penny, even though I explained the idea is used every day they still want to see the idea in action first, so I explained that if I had the working model built , why would I need venture capital. So until I find just the right investor, I'm on my own.

The prototype will cost approx $10k or less and should take less than 2 weeks to build when I have all the parts. So stay tuned and I'll post updates here...

Remember, our future is what we make it!!!!!

Welcome to the forums! Yours is a perfect example of why we started these forums. Garnering interest and discussion on the latest technologies that are currently being researched is vitally important as it is these new technologies that are going to be the key to how the future is going to turn out.

Best of luck in your ongoing endeavor and please keep us posted with updates and additional details as you work through your process.

I agree about ethanol. It's a waste of time and resources for very little gain. Hydrogen I like a little more. However I don't think the downfall of hydrogen is its safety. It's no less safe than gasoline. Actually, I think it's probably safer. Hydrogen, being lighter than air, will just shoot flames straight up, but gas pools on the ground and burns up over a larger area. Rather I think hydrogen's primary fault (assuming the storage can be figured out) is the infrastructure. Massive changes will need to be made to our existing gasoline-based infrastructure to make it viable, and it's just going to be too hard to get people to spend that kind of money out of their own pockets to fund it since it'll probably come from tax dollars.

I disagree with you about electric. Yes, battery technology needs to get a lot better for it to work. But that, just like other technology hurdles, will eventually be overcome, maybe even with the introduction of biological engineering (such as the work by Angela Belcher from MIT). But I strongly believe EVs have a place in our future. And 40 miles on a recharge? No. Maybe on Chevy's piece of crap Volt. Let better car companies come out with 150-200 miles on a single charge (which should be happening really soon) and all of a sudden, you're in business. The Volt is a joke. Chevy should be slapped in the face for trying to market that as an EV.

I think that awesome that you're working on your own system! Major kudos to you! Obviously until you get a prototype or get the design of the system copyrighted/patented, you'll want to keep a lid on most of the details. But keep us posted on whatever details you can...it sounds really intriguing.

Maxkone;
Thanks for the reply, you also sky....

sorry for the lack of detail, but as you stated, no patent, no proection!!!!!

I'm tired of waiting so I'm borrowing money against my home to build the proto....

geez I hope this works????

the funny thing is that I'm pretty sure I have worked most of the kinks out of this idea, the thing I'm wondering now is about the power band.....

Last night I had an epiphany about this and think I'm in the ballpark where I need to be.....

$$$$ will be here this week and parts needed are less than $300.00

glad I found this site, I've been looking for one like this for a long time, with a last name of green this site fits

I'll keep u posted as things progress.....

Hi everyone, sorry I havent been here in a while I've been busy

I now have everything together to build the prototype, I'm just waiting for one piece from the machine shop I needed fabricated.

This should be assembled within a week or so and we will see if it's going to work. I'm expecting to have a bit more developement to do but all this has to do is run at any speed to prove it's viable.

Amazingly I have less than $300.00 into this proto and after a little more this should be able to move the go cart at an acceptable rate of speed.

We will see soon, keep your fingers crossed!!!!!

Ah, the spark of ingenuity and the genius of invention! You gotta love a simple line like this. :)

Thanks for the update, no gas. Glad to hear things seems to be going well. Less than $300 for a working prototype, huh? That's pretty impressive! Let us know how it goes, we're rooting for ya!

Yes, identifing a people need or "reason to go to a destination" and then provide a choice of transportation. Adding trains to the transportation method list gives the people a choice. Now we wait and see if the train becomes a first choice.

Has anyone heard of or used precision transportation or Terrys VIP Transportation company? I was looking into them both for transportation for 7 people for our disney cruise. Thanks for any and all suggestions
